What I Loved About Writing for This Anthology:
It's not hard to see what attracted me to this collection by Pen and Kink press. I've already been a part of a Pen and Kink anthology, Rough Edges, and I love their style. Beyond that, though, this is an anthology on a theme I can get very passionate about: tattoos.
I love tattoos. I love the artistry, the culture, the whole attitude. I have six tattoos and--like the cover blurb on our anthology says--each has a story. Each is important to me and is part of who I am.
And tattoos are also sexy to me. They are intricate artworks incorporated into our very skin, the largest erogenous part of our bodies. Touchable, traceable, lickable, kissable. They decorate us in such an intimate and yet exhibitionary manner. Sexy, so full of sexy potential.
So writing for this anthology was a real treat. The story I contributed, For the Occasion, was it's own bit of fun as well, as I got to explore an aspect of sexual fantasy I personally find fascinating, and that is pain kink. The idea of pain intersecting with pleasure. It offered me a chance to reflect on my own experiences being inked, and the eroticism and ritualism involved in it for me. Though in For the Occasion, there are definitely degrees of sexual activity surrounding the act, it afforded me a chance to consider eroticism separate from traditionally sexual engagement. Another subject I quite enjoy, the capability to create erotic content that doesn't include sex. I'm still working on achieving that particular theme myself, and this, I think, brought me a step closer.
So I'm very excited to see this collection finally coming to print. Eight stories about the intimacies of ink and the implications of body art. I certainly hope readers enjoy it as well.
